A 40-year-old serial rapist was arrested and positively identified by his victims during a police parade on Thursday in Leboeng Village.

The suspect is linked to six cases that were carried out between October 2023 and January 2024 Lulekani, Phalabowa, Hoedsspruit and surrounding areas.

It is alleged the suspect would drive in a white Polo Vivo hatch back to hiking spots and bus stops targeting young women and offering them lifts to their destinations.

He would then pretend to be driving to the destination, and on the way he would drive into the bushes and at gunpoint threaten their lives.

Limpopo police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba said the suspect would tell his victims that he sells human body parts for R60,000.

ā€œThe victims allege that the suspect would tie them with a rope, continue to rape them and once done he would take pictures of them naked.

ā€œOnce done raping his victims he would force them to bath from a two litre [of water]bottle he carried in his car.

ā€œHe would then rob them of their cellphones, money, and jewellery and would leave them in the bushes naked,ā€ he said.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Lulekani Magistrateā€™s Court on Monday facing charges of rape.

Limpopo provincial commissioner of SAPS, Lieutenant Thembi Hadebe has commended police for working swiftly to arrest the suspect.

ā€œThe community can rest assured that the culprit is off the streets and will face the full wrath of the law,ā€ she said.
