- Sbu Zikode told crowds at Shaka’s Head on Monday that leaders take bribes to chase away people from African countries.
- Phakelumthakathi Ndabandaba denied taking bribes and said foreign nationals sell drugs to black students at universities around the Durban area.
Sbu Zikode has blasted two march leaders for allegedly taking luxury cars as bribes to chase black foreign nationals out of South Africa.
The Abahlali baseMjondolo leader spoke to a crowd at Shaka’s Head near Ballito in KwaZulu-Natal on Monday.
The movement fights for people living in informal settlements across the province. Locals and foreign nationals gathered at the event to mark UnFreedom Day.
The group uses this name because members say they cannot celebrate Freedom Day when they do not have land or proper houses.
Zikode told the crowd that Ngizwe Mchunu and Phakelumthakathi Ndabandaba are cowards who target black people from other African countries because they are scared of white people.
“Phakelumthakathi has recently bought a vehicle that cost around R1.2-million as a bribe to chase away our black neighbours from African countries,” Zikode said.
Mchunu brushed off the claims. He told Scrolla.Africa that he does not even know Zikode and will not waste time answering his comments.
Ndabandaba also hit back at Zikode. He said the communities he fights for have never seen a white person raping or killing their children.
“In Nongoma where I am staying, there is no white person who is in the country illegally who has come to own a tuckshop or a salon,” Ndabandaba said.
He said it is disturbing to hear Zikode’s claims. Ndabandaba said the people Zikode claims to represent are the real victims of crimes committed by illegal foreign nationals.
He said black students at universities in Durban are victims of drugs distributed by people from other countries.
