Popular influencer and content creator Mihlali Ndamase has reportedly landed in trouble with the South African Revenue Service over unpaid taxes of more than R580,000.
According to Sunday World, Sars issued a letter of demand revealing that Ndamase first owed R490,000 in personal income tax. The amount later grew to over R580,000 after penalties and interest of about R85,000 were added.
Sources told the paper that Ndamase had planned to dispute the figure but never filed a formal challenge.
The reports come soon after the Soweto-born star made headlines for spending R1-million on two luxury Hermès Birkin handbags.
Industry insiders say her signature designer looks may now double as a shield from public scrutiny as she faces financial pressure.
Neither Sars nor Ndamase have publicly commented on the reported tax dispute.
