ROYAL REBEL: Challenger in plot to take over Zulu throne confesses on video

A new challenger to the Zulu throne, Prince Simakade has confessed on video that he would ascend the throne if asked.

It’s highly unlikely, however, that Zulu King Misuzulu Zulu kaZwelithini can still be removed from the throne and replaced by another member of the Royal Family.

Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, the Traditional Prime Minister to the Zulu Monarch and Nation, said efforts to unseat him were unlikely to succeed: “The King is already on the throne,” he said.

However, this has not stopped a faction of the Royal Family going to court on Friday to interdict the planned coronation of the king.

Scrolla.Africa has also learned that the faction, which is led by Prince Thokozani Msweli, met in Mtubatuba on Friday and allegedly plotted against the King.

The rebellious faction is punting Prince Simakade as their preferred candidate.

A new video in circulation among members of the royal family shows Prince Simakade confirming his availability to take the throne if he got enough support.

He however indicates he is not prepared to fight anyone for the throne.

In the video, Prince Simakade says: “I can confirm that I have never told anyone that I want to ascend on the throne.

“I do understand that there are people in the Royal house who want me to ascend to the throne.

“Therefore there is nothing I can do about their wishes but if they want me to take over I will definitely accept.”

But it was this winking at the idea that has emboldened a faction of the Royal Family to launch a campaign against King Misuzulu.

It is understood that His Majesty is going ahead with preparations for his coronation; apparently unfazed by two court cases designed to sabotage his ascendance to the throne.

Royal Family Spokesperson, Prince Thulani Zulu, said that this video does not halt any processes that are underway for the coronation.

“I really don’t see anything wrong about this video because he is not offending anyone. In fact, I don’t know when the video was made but by the look of things he is repeating the letter he sent to Prince (Mangosuthu) Buthelezi where he made it clear that he had no ambitions to be on the throne,” said Prince Thulani.
