ASAP Rocky, the superstar rapper and future father of Rihanna’s child, was arrested on Wednesday in connection with a shooting that took place in November 2021 in Los Angeles.
Rocky is alleged to have been involved in the shooting of an unknown victim following an “argument between two acquaintances” in Hollywood on 6 November.
The rapper, who has been in trouble with the law before, was apprehended by cops at Los Angeles airport upon returning from Barbados with his heavily pregnant partner.
Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was released on Thursday morning on a bail set at a whopping $550,000 (over R8 million).
In 2019, he spent a month in a Swedish prison for assaulting a 19-year-old man.
The 33 year old, who comes from Harlem in New York, started rapping at the age of nine.
