After the huge success of The Real Housewives of Johannesburg and a subsequent season in Durban, streaming giants Showmax is set to debut The Real Housewives of Lagos next month.
The reality television show began life in the United States as The Real Housewives of Orange County in 2006. Its latest outing will follow the lives of six interesting women of Lagos.
“Ladies and gentlemen… them! Time to meet The Real Housewives of Lagos,” wrote Showmax on its official Twitter account on Tuesday.
Most of the series aims to document the lives of the prosperous women. Contrary to the word “housewives”, they are really the opposite of that, and some are not even married. Take Chioma Ikokwu, who is a lawyer and businesswoman who has never been married and is set to be a fascinating player in the latest series.
With new episodes going live on the streaming platform every Friday, Showmax subscribers will also get to see how Laura Ikeji, a social media influencer and entrepreneur, leads her glamorous life in the heart of Africa. Ikeji is married to the former Nigerian national team star Christopher Kanu.
Also on the show is Iyabo Ojo, a famous Nollywood actress and producer.
Meanwhile, The Real Housewives of Durban launched its second season on 28 January, while The Real Housewives of Johannesburg are expected to make a return for their third season in October this year.
