Queen Nomzamo warns against ignoring young boys

King Misuzulu’s wife, Queen Nomzamo kaMyeni, says people must not forget about young boys when helping their communities.

The Queen launched a new foundation called Sizowakha okaZulu last Thursday. She spent the day with school children in Ngwavuma, near the eSwatini border.

“I started this foundation in my hometown because I know the struggles here,” said the Queen.

“But we’ll help people all over KwaZulu-Natal and beyond.”

The Queen wants to help both girls and boys. “We need to raise boys to be good leaders who care for our communities,” she said.

She warned that neglected boys can become criminals.

She also gave out school uniforms. She believes this helps children feel good about themselves.

The Queen is following in the footsteps of the late Queen Regent Mantfombi, who helped rural women start businesses.

Local education official Ncamisile Cebekhulu praised the Queen’s work.

“We’re proud she’s become an ambassador for us,” Cebekhulu said.

People in Jozini say the Queen brings hope to their community.

She is also known for having improved King Misuzulu’s public image since joining the royal family.
