- Neo Lesako says Major League DJz missed his event and never returned the R30,000 deposit.
- Lesako is now taking the famous DJ duo to court to recover his money and other losses.
Music promoter Neo Lesako is taking legal action after famous DJ duo Major League DJz failed to return a R30,000 deposit when they missed his event.
Lesako said he booked twin brothers Banele and Bandile Mbere to perform at his All Black Soiree party on 22 March at Imvelo Safari in Bloemfontein.

The DJs charged R60,000 for the performance and asked for a R30,000 deposit, which Lesako paid to their booking agent, Thabang Malatsi.
Although Major League DJz wanted full payment upfront, Lesako decided to pay the balance closer to the event as a safety measure.
A week before the party, Lesako was told the DJs would be overseas for a TikTok show and could not perform, Sunday World reported.
“It was very upsetting,” said Lesako. “They knew about their other plans but still accepted our booking.”
Lesako said they asked for their deposit back so they could book DJ Stokie instead, but the DJs kept making promises and never refunded the money.
At the event, many guests were angry that Major League DJz were missing, and some even accused the organisers of lying to boost the party.
“Luckily, there was no violence,” said Lesako. “But if we had gotten the refund, we could have booked DJ Stokie and attracted his fans too.”
Lesako said he called and messaged the DJs and their agent many times but still has not received any money. He said the incident caused him to lose money, damaged his reputation, and brought him a lot of stress.
He is now planning to take Major League DJz to court to get his deposit back and claim for other losses.
Booking agent Thabang Malatsi said he has sent an invoice to Major League DJz asking them to refund Lesako and hopes they will pay soon.
