Actor Presley Chweneyagae passed away on Tuesday, 27 May. While most people posted kind messages, one person insulted him – gossip blogger Musa Khawula.
He was 40 years old. The reason for his death has not been made public yet.
Presley became famous for his role in the Oscar-winning movie Tsotsi. He was also loved for his part in the TV show The River.
After the news broke, many people went online to share messages of love and sadness. Fans, actors and friends spoke about how talented he was and how he inspired young people.
But not everyone had kind words.
Musa Khawula, a gossip blogger who is in jail, posted a cruel message on social media. Instead of showing respect, he insulted Presley.
He said Presley was a “deadbeat” father who spent all his money on alcohol and women, and did not look after his 19-year-old daughter.
Musa wrote: “Deadbeat to his 19-year-old daughter, Presley Chweneyagae, who preferred to squander all his money on alcohol and hoes, meanwhile her daughter was struggling, has passed away at the age of 40.”
Many people were angry at Musa’s post. They said it was wrong to speak badly about someone who had just died, especially when the country was still mourning.
Presley’s daughter has not said anything about what Musa wrote.
