Player protests abruptly end Limpopo Motsepe League game

By Razeen Gutta

It was another weekend of drama in the ABC Limpopo Motsepe League as Vondwe XI Bullets against Musina United at the Makhuvha Stadium was abandoned in the second half due to players protesting a refereeing decision.

After Golden Syrup beat United Artist 2-1 in Saturday’s first game, all eyes were on the Bullets — who saw their 62nd minute goal heavily protested for a potential offside.

Instead of getting on with it, the Musina players protested the decision — leaving the pitch and refusing to play on.

As has been the case in many a game this season, the matter will go for review and resolution as per the league’s regulations.

For now, the Bullets remain top of Stream A with 29 points after 14 games — level on points with the second-placed Selwane White Vultures, who have played 16 matches.
