It’s been a drama filled season with perhaps the best Formula 1 racing we’ve seen in recent years, and it all comes down to one final race this weekend.
In one of the most enthralling Formula 1 seasons in history the champion will be decided in a winner takes all race in Abu Dhabi with both Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton level on 369.5 points.
Red Bull have been dominant throughout the season and looked guaranteed to stop Mercedes from winning their eighth consecutive constructors’ title. And Verstappen, who has won nine races this season also looked like stopping Hamilton from winning an historic eighth drivers’ title. But three wins on the spin for Hamilton and Mercedes has seen the tide shift.
The pair have raced hard and, some might say, too hard, but the champion will be crowned at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this weekend – and millions of sports fans will be watching to see who it is.
Lights out is set for 3pm on Sunday where history will be made.
All the action will be live on DStv channel 215.
➤ The Madrid derby takes centre stage this footballing weekend in a game with very different outcomes for both sides. Real Madrid look to extend their lead at the top of the table while Atletico Madrid fight to stay in the top four.
The red side of Madrid claimed the La Liga title last season in dramatic fashion with a win on the final day, but this season has proved to be difficult for Diego Simeone and his team who find themselves in fourth spot in the league.
Real Madrid on the other hand endured a disaster-filled season in the last campaign with no trophies and a previously sacked manager, Carlo Ancelotti took the reins once again in what has looked like a masterstroke from Los Blancos who are eight points clear at the top of the table.
Kickoff is at 10pm on Sunday night in the Spanish capital in what is always a feisty affair. The game can be watched live on DStv channel 204.
➤ UFC 269 mixed martial arts will see a clash of the lightweight titans as Brazilian champion Charles Oliveira takes on challenger Dustin Poirier in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Oliveira shocked the world when he became the UFC lightweight champion. He will face competition veteran Poirier who looks the favourite to once again become the champion of his division.
The scariest woman on the planet, Amanda Nunes will take to the cage on Sunday against Julianna Pena. The double weight division champion Nunes aims to claim another victim in her vicious win-streak competing in the UFC.
The fight action can be watched live on DStv channel 210 from 5am on Sunday morning.
