Oscar Piastri dominated the rain-soaked Belgian Grand Prix, outpacing teammate Lando Norris to claim his sixth win of the season.Piastri’s bold move on the first lap, slipping past Norris at Eau Rouge, secured his lead.
Despite Norris’s late charge on harder tires, Piastri’s steady pace and medium tire strategy paid off.
Charles Leclerc completed the podium, while Max Verstappen finished fourth.
The win extends Piastri’s championship lead over Norris to 16 points, setting the stage for an intense title battle.
Piastri’s calm assurance and mastery behind the wheel showcased his world champion potential.
The race was delayed by over an hour due to heavy rain, but Piastri’s performance shone through the challenging conditions.
“I knew that lap one was probably my best chance of winning the race,” he told reporters post-race.
“I lifted as little as I dared through Eau Rouge and then it was enough.”
