The agent of Victor Osimhen has threatened to take legal action against the Nigerian striker’s own side, Napoli, after the club’s TikTok posted a video mocking him.
The video, which has since been deleted, showed Osimhen in a match while a dubbed high pitched voice repeats “give me penalty please”. The striker is then shown missing a penalty.
In response, the player’s agent Roberto Calenda has accused Napoli of mocking the player, describing the video as “not acceptable”.
“We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor. What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable,” Calenda said in a statement on social media.
“A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but belatedly, deleted. A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news.”
The Nigerian international joined Napoli as their record signing back in 2020. He played a key role in the club winning their first league title in 33 years last season, scoring 26 Serie A goals.
