From Black Panther: Wakanda Forever to Avatar: The Way of Water and Top Gun: Maverick — the 2023 Academy Awards nominations are certainly full of super-sized sequels.
Elvis and Everything Everywhere All At Once were two of the year’s best for sure; and fans and critics alike will be glad to see them among the Best Picture nominees.
Cate Blanchett and Michelle Williams are among the best actress nominees while Colin Farrell was nominated for his performance in The Banshees of Inisherin.
Angela Bassett made history this year by becoming the first ever Marvel actor to receive an Oscar nomination, with her role in the new Black Panther movie receiving much praise.
It will be another mammoth musical battle at the Oscars, with Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up” going up against Lady Gaga’s “Hold My Hand” and the highly acclaimed “Naatu Naatu” taken off the soundtrack of RRR.
