Osama’s a hit – but nobody (including its composer) knows what it means!

Durban’s finest music producer, singer and DJ, Zakes Bantwini released a hit song last Friday 10 September 2021 titled “Osama” featuring Kasango that had been trending on social media for two weeks before its official release.

The song debuted at number 1 on the South African iTunes Chart for singles, but the harsh truth is that the tongue twisting lyrics have no meaning.

“It just proves that music is the food of the soul,” explained Zakes Bantwini in an Instagram live video with DJ Shimza.

“Music is melody, it’s not words. It’s a melody that speaks to your soul. No one is ever gonna lie to you and say… because you have the biggest song in Africa or South Africa right now which is in a language that does not exist,” continued Zakes Bantwini who also endured criticism for the artwork of his upcoming album Ghetto King which was put live for pre-order on the same day last Friday.

“Honestly the cover looks like sh*t but I know the music will be on fire!! Can’t wait,” commented one twitter user.

The album which features artists like Nana Atta who also co-wrote the song “Osama”, Amanda Black and upcoming artists like DeeTheGeneral is expected to be released “in November or December” Zakes Bantwini had said.

Lyrics for the song “Osama” by Zakes Bantwini featuring Kasango (in case you had a better idea what they meant):
