The SAPS has launched a new service to report torture or abuse by police during the coronavirus crisis.
After the death of Collins Khosa in Alexandra, Judge Hans Fabricius ordered that government set up a way for people to report allegations of torture or cruel treatment by the SANDF or police during the “state of disaster”.
The SAPS said on Tuesday there was a new hotline to “report complaints regarding the SAPS”.
It’s on the toll-free number 0800 333 177 or via the following email addresses: [email protected] or [email protected].
The police statement said complaints can vary from torture to police negligence and misconduct.
