New AmaRharhabe King Jonguxolo Aah Vululwandle! Sandile is under royal instruction to get married soon.

The 29-year-old was recognised at the weekend as the future ruler of the AmaRharhabe Nation, which means he must get married before the official coronation.

Only after the wedding will the king be introduced to various stakeholders. This includes the Royal House of Traditional Leaders and the Eastern Cape government, which is expected to receive minutes of the meeting of his anointing.

Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane, and the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, will then forward the minutes to President Cyril Ramaphosa for the final recognition of King Jonguxolo as the rightful ruler of the AmaRharhabe Nation.

Ironically, King Jonguxolo’s cousin, Zulu Monarch King Misuzulu Zulu KaZwelithini, is going through a similar process and has paid lobola to his long-term sweetheart, Ntokozo Mayisela of Newcastle.

The Royal House of AmaRharhabe is based at Emngqesha Great Place, outside Qonce (previously King William’s Town) in the Eastern Cape.

The recognition of King Jonguxolo continues deep ties between the Zulu Nation and the AmaRharhabe Nation.

The new monarch is the son of Queen Noloyiso Zulu Sandile, the daughter of the late Zulu King Cyprian Bhekuzulu KaSolomon.

King Cyprian was the father of the recently departed King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu.

King Jonguxolo takes over from his mother Queen Regent Noloyiso Sandile, who succumbed to a Covid-19 related illness on 8 July 2020.

He is also the son of the late AmaRharhabe King Maxhobay’ayakhawuleza Sandile, who started the relationship between the AmaRharhabe and the Zulu Nation when he married King Zwelithini’s sister in 1988.

The AmaRharhabe Nation just emerged from a 13-year long court battle after the Nhlapho Commission failed to recognise their kingship.

Last month Ramaphosa recognised the AmaRharhabe’s kingdom status.
