Ndlovu Youth Choir catches Makhadzi fire

Limpopo’s very own Ndlovu Youth Choir has shown once again that there are no limits to what this talented group can do.

From traditional gospel classics to modern music which makes waves every week, there is no musical genre that is out of its reach.

And this time, they brought the “Ghanama” vibe to the world.

“Ghanama”, by Makhadzi and featuring Benza, is the song that caused bad blood to spill between two Balobedu House music giants: Makhadzi and King Monada.

The song was first put together by Prince Benza, Makhadzi and the Idibala hitmaker King Monada.

But what was trending was Makhadzi’s own version, which only features Prince Benza. Makhadzi released the music video following a dispute with King Monada.

After their social media fight, the two artists each released separate songs titled “Ghanama” at the beginning of July.

It has now been used by the Ndlovu Youth Choir to unite people on social media by performing an acapella cover of the hit.

The Ndlovu Youth Choir rose to prominence on the popular talent show, America’s Got Talent, where they made it through to the finals. The group’s content continues to be among the trending videos every week on social media, including its amapiano song covers.

On Saturday,  the choir took home the award for the South African Music Awards  (SAMA27) Best Contemporary Album.
