• Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande are now held at eBongweni Super Max Prison while facing 24 serious charges linked to murders and organised crime.

• The Durban Magistrate’s Court delayed the case to 4 March 2026 after the defence said key extradition documents from Eswatini are still missing.

The brothers accused of killing award winning rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and his close friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane have been moved to eBongweni Super Max Correctional Facility in Kokstad.

Siyabonga Gezani Ndimande and Malusi Dave Ndimande appeared briefly before the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Friday. They appeared via video link from a separate room.

The court postponed the case to 4 March 2026. This was their third appearance since they were extradited from Eswatini in November last year.

During the hearing, the defence team said it is struggling to prepare the case properly. Advocate Simphiwe Mlotshwa, who is leading the defence, told the court they cannot take proper instructions from the brothers.

He said the defence still needs a full set of extradition documents from the Kingdom of Eswatini. These records show the legal process that led to the brothers being sent back to South Africa.

Without these documents, the defence said it cannot move forward in a fair way.

The brothers face 24 charges. These include the murders of Forbes and Motsoane.

They also face charges of conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, unlawful possession of automatic firearms and ammunition and money laundering.

In a separate case, the brothers are charged with the murder of a taxi boss who was killed in Amanzimtoti.

Police say the pair are part of a wider criminal group linked to several murders and attempted murders across KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.

The brothers were arrested in Mbabane in February 2024 after a regional manhunt. They were later handed over to South African authorities by Eswatini officials.

Their extradition was approved by Eswatini’s High Court after they dropped their appeal against being sent back.

In November last year, high risk officers from the South African Police Service escorted the brothers back under tight security.

Forbes and Motsoane were shot dead outside a restaurant on Florida Road in Durban on 10 February 2023. The shooting was caught on CCTV footage and shocked the country.

National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola thanked Eswatini authorities for working closely with South African police.

Security around the brothers remains tight as they wait for their next court appearance.
