Pretoria’s very own Amapiano legend DJ Kabza De Small says he’s ready to release a new album.
Titled King of Amapiano Vol 2, it is expected to continue his reign as “The King of Amapiano” – at least that’s how his fans refer to him.
The second Volume follows his 2021 studio album titled I Am The King Of Amapiano: Sweet & Dust. It aided in growing his 13-year music career, starting in 2009, and landed him at number 1 on Apple SA music charts in 2020 with hit songs like “Sthandwa”.
Volume 2 will be Kabza’s fourth solo project since his 2016 debut album Avenue Sounds.
Sharing the news on Instagram via a caption under a video post of him playing one of his Afro-house-influenced amapiano songs, Kabza hinted that the album will also be released under his recording label Piano Hub.
Known for being a genius of music production with an impressive record of hits, Kabza has been in the spotlight lately for his personal life. This follows pictures of him and his “wife” Kamogelo Moropa – who has been previously kept out of the spotlight by the internationally-recognised DJ.
Having worked with big artists like Samting Soweto, Burna Boy and Wizkid on Vol.1, Volume 2 is expected to drop with impressive cameos by both local and international acts.
In the meantime Kabza is still enjoying the momentum from his 2021 hit singles “Abalele” and “Asibe Happy”. They both feature Maphorisa and Ami Faku – and the company of his wife whom he had paid lobola for late last year, according to ZAlebs.
