South African songbird Msaki has shaken her fans with a declaration that she is “leaving for good”.

This week, she announced her decision in two cryptic tweets which have her fans worried about her.

“Thank you for everything. It’s all been a lesson. A painful one, but a lesson. Nothing is really bad. It’s just painful but I’m learning to breathe through pain in real time. So thank you. That’s all. Thank you for being part of the lesson,” tweeted Msaki.

This was followed by, “I’m ok. I’m just saying goodbye. I’m out for real this time x”.

Although she did not clear up if she is quitting social media, music or both, with everything she’s been going through lately, fans are worried. Some on Twitter noted how celebrities who have posted similar words on social media before ended up taking their lives.

“I might really be reading this wrong and my sincere apologies for that but a lot of people who had similar words on this platform have taken their lives. I’m pleading, begging you right now not to commit suicide. You’re loved and appreciated,” tweeted Nondumiso, in response to Msaki’s tweet.

Recently, the talented songstress was labelled a homewrecker by a Sunday tabloid newspaper when the news of her dating presenter Smash Afrika who is married to Kefiloe Chuene, daughter of actress Rami Chuene.

The singer who rarely gets any bad publicity refused to comment on the allegations – asking people to respect her enough to not expect her to speak on the issue.

We all need a break sometime to make sense of our lives and hopefully Msaki just needs time off and will be back again to make the music which continues to help so many people to deal with their own traumas and pain.
