The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a warning about severe thunderstorms set to bring strong winds and hail to parts of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) on Sunday and Monday.
This alert follows last week’s heavy rains that led to localised flooding in areas like eThekwini and districts such as Ugu, uMgungundlovu, and iLembe.
SAWS forecaster Wiseman Dlamini said that weather should start improving by Tuesday.
“We are going for 60% showers and thundershowers over KZN. However, there is a level two warning for most parts of KZN—that is for severe thunderstorms,” Dlamini said.
On Monday, showers and thunderstorms are expected, with chances ranging from 60% to 30% across the region, especially in central and northern KZN.
