A woman who once stayed with Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his wife has accused him of raping her when she was 15-years-old.

The woman opened the case on Monday at the Mount Ommaney police station in Queensland, Australia, where she is currently based.

Suzan Mutami, a controversial Zimbabwean socialite, went live on Twitter media on Friday where she spoke about the allegation to more than 12 000 viewers.

She accuses him of abusing her when she was under his care.

She claimed her ordeal started in 2004 when she was 15-years-old. She even described what Mnangagwa’s thighs look like.

“His inner thighs are yellow, he is a yellow bone down there,” said Mutami.

The case has divided Zimbabweans along political affiliations with opposition supporters pushing Mutami to nail Mnangagwa.

On their twitter handle, ZimLive.com, which broke the story, said, “Suzan Vivian Mutami, a

33-year-old Zimbabwean woman who lived with President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his wife,

Auxillia, as a teenager, has filed rape charges against the 79-year-old ZANU PF leader with the Queensland Police Service in Australia.”

Opposition Citizen’s Coalition for Change (CCC) spokesperson, Fadzai Mahere said:

“To women who have experienced abuse of whatever nature, it doesn’t matter that you decide to tell your story after 20 years. Your story is still valid, tell it, and speak loudly. Your story is valid. You are valid.”

This has riled ZANU PF Director of Information and Publicity, Tafadzwa Mugwadi who in turn accused CCC President, Nelson Chamisa of being behind Mutami’s allegations.

“You have no structures, you don’t even have confidence in your shadowless cabinet and what you do, you hire a trans-regional self-confessed hooker, Suzan Mutami to do public relations  for you, to divert attention from sexual allegations against you and the hooker. You’re stupid.”

“U can call me a hooker. I don’t care the fact still remains @edmnangagwa raped me when I was a minor,”  Mutami responded.

Mnangagwa’s spokesperson George Charamba dismissed the allegations as rubbish and gossip.
