After releasing her own romantic movie on Valentine’s Day titled No Love Lost, sports anchor and film producer Minnie Dlamini announced that she is filing for divorce.
The couple, who have a two-year-old son, got married in a glamorous ceremony which was aired exclusively as a reality show called Becoming Mrs Jones on Showmax in 2017.
This was Minnie’s first production for her production company Beautiful Day Productions.
“After months of separation and consultation with our family and counsellors, we have taken the decision to officially file for divorce,” read the statement she released with her husband Quinton Jones on Tuesday on Instagram.
“We remain friends, business partners and loving parents to our son,” Minnie captioned the statement which was shared as a picture.
As the statement went viral social media users started speculating what the reason behind their divorce could be.
“Showmax weddings don’t last. First it was Somizi, now it’s Minnie,” said Lebogang Mzansi on Twitter.
Others joked about the situation.
“We need a reality show called Unbecoming Mrs Jones,” wrote Ticha Molife on Twitter.
The movie No Love Lost is about a couple who go on a romantic vacation to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. There they meet the female partner’s ex and she starts questioning whether her feelings for her ex are really in the past. This is Minnie’s third successful production with Showmax.
