South African DJs Lamiez and Luthando Shosha, also known as Lootlove, have been repeatedly suspended from Metro FM in the past – so the latest gossip about the duo comes as no surprise.
Lamiez Mischa Miriam Holworthy-Morule is a TV personality, radio presenter, record producer, businesswoman, and philanthropist. Her co-presenter, Luthando Shosha, is a TV presenter and radio personality.
They joined the station in April, marking a significant and exciting milestone for them, but controversial “gossiper” Musa Khaluwa claimed: “Metro FM suspends Luthando Shozi, known as Lootlove, and Lamiez Holworthy for attending ANC rallies.”
In a post on X, entertainment commentator Kgopolo said the SABC had clarified the Lootlove and Lamiez rumours.
Lootlove was unscheduled from her show with Lamiez for breaking the rules, he said.
The SABC said it “is not at liberty to go into the details of the matter concerning the individual, except to say that hosting of political rallies and/or public association with political parties, goes against the SABC’s editorial policy, which is a public document”.
The broadcaster said Lamiez Holworthy “is not on suspension or unscheduled for any matter”.
The two presenters have yet to comment officially.
Social media users shared their opinions on the alleged suspension.
Some of the reactions included:
“Why? They have the freedom of association.”
“I think Metro FM is wrong. I don’t see why their attendance or political affiliation would cause a conflict of interest unless there’s more to the story.”
“But it’s unfair. DJ Sbu and other presenters used to campaign for the ANC and were never suspended.”
