Nkosazana Daughter has climbed to the summits of the music charts, leaving behind big names like Kendrick Lamar and Drake in her wake.
“Sofa Silahlane”, produced by Master KG and Lowsheen, stands at number one of both iTunes SA’s top 100 music chart and YouTube’s trending music chart.
Released on 13 May, “Sofa Silahlane” conquered the charts for two weeks without any challenge from other songs.
Additionally, Nkosazana Daughter’s – with Master KG, Basetsana and Obeey Amor – 2021 music video “Dali Nguwe” is at a respectable number four on YouTube’s top music video chart with over 8-million views since it premiered on 18 March.
The star, whose real name is Nkosazana Nolwazi Kimberly, has never looked back since she released her first commercial hit “Emazwen” with DJ Skillz and TNS in September 2021.
This year alone, she has collaborated on many notable hits with legendary amapiano artist Kabza De Small, including on the song “Ebusuku” from his recent four-song EP titled Ziwangale.
Another music jewel of hers is the song “Nomathemba” by DJ Givy Baby, featuring Sir Trill and Soa Mattrix. The song has managed to stay on the charts for two months and is currently at number 22 on YouTube’s Top Music Videos.
Meanwhile “Sofa Silahlane”, a song about love, like many of Master KG’s productions, has collected over 1.9 million views in just two weeks since its release, without a music video.
