Producer and musician Master KG has reportedly parted ways with Open Mic Productions to sign under his own recording label, Wanitwa Mos Entertainment.

Master KG’s world-famous hit “Jerusalema” was one of the sounds of the pandemic, keeping people grooving through some of their darkest days.

The star, who rose to fame under Open Mic, had already put one foot out of the stable when he signed off the rights to his latest album, Jerusalema.

The project was released under Warner Music’s Elektra France recording label last August.

The artist had openly discussed the formation of his own label for months on social media before he finally decided to go it alone.

He finally made the jump whilst on a European tour on Monday, as reported by City Press.

His departure from Open Mic means he has left behind artists such as Makhadzi and Prince Benza, who were brought to Open Mic by him.

The artist will reportedly release future music projects under his company as well as Warner Music.

Master KG has already announced the signing of his first artist, DJ Ngwazilu.

“My friend and first artist under Wanitwa Mos Entertainment… he is dropping soon,” Tweeted the superstar producer.
