The infamous password saga of the late Durban kwaito star Mampintsha’s cellphone has inspired maskandi musician Sibekezelo “Stability” Mvubu to compose a song.

Mampintsha’s baby mama Babes Wodumo caused a stir on social media when she said at her late husband’s funeral that she does not have the password to his phone.

But a few days later, she announced that she had managed to get the password.

Mampintsha, real name Mandla Maphumulo, died in December after suffering a stroke.

Stability said the song came to him by chance while he was busy in the studio.

“His cellphone password really set tongues wagging and people were interested in finding out how Babes Wodumo got the password access.

“In my lyrics for ‘iPin kaMampintsha’ I wrote the line saying ‘who gave Mampintsha’s password to Babes?’ By this song, I am merely starting a debate,” said Stability.

He said he has not yet contacted Babes Wodumo about the single. The Gqom star’s sister and business manager Nondumiso Simelane said they don’t have a problem with Stability composing a song as long as it doesn’t contain negative messages.

The single is trending on social media.
