Award-winning Maskandi musician Qhoshangokwenzakwakhe Sibisi said he is being held to ransom by a woman who threatens to release a naked video of him if he doesn’t pay her R5,000.
Qhosha, a Crown Maskandi Gospel and Satma award winner, has dared the woman to release the pictures as he won’t pay her a cent.
On Friday he shared the screenshot of a text from the woman demanding a ransom.
“I have a video of you that I took while you were asleep,” says the note.
“You were naked and I’m going to post it on social media. Give me R5,000 then I will delete the video.”
She said if he doesn’t pay she will post the video.
“I wonder what your fans will say,” she said.
Qhosha told Scrolla.Africa that he has tried everything to plead with the woman not to release his nude video but she is not willing to compromise.
“I have decided to let her go ahead whether my fans will be disappointed or not. I am waiting for her to release the video,” he said.
Qhosha told Scrolla.Africa that he has not reported the matter to the police.
He did not clarify whether he was dating this woman or not and failed to provide her contact details to Scrolla.Africa
“My brother, I’m driving and I’m unable to talk to you further. I will be arrested if I am found talking on the phone,” said Qhosha before ending the call.
A friend who didn’t want to be named said: “Qhosha needs to attend to this issue because it will destroy his music career. Maskandi fans are traditionalists. They won’t accept seeing his video in such a compromising situation.”
