Mandla Ncikazi dumps Golden Arrows for Sundowns

Not so long ago, Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi announced that he was looking to beef up the technical team for the upcoming 2021/22 season. But the employment of Mandla Ncikazi from Golden Arrows to join Sundowns as a member of the coaching staff is unexpected.

Ncikazi guided Abafana Bes’thende to an historic fourth place finish in the DStv Premiership campaign this season.

Ncikazi announced his departure on Wednesday night.

“It’s a positive exit full of great memories,” he said.

“The contents of this mutual decision will remain private. I wish the team all the best.”

Scrolla.Africa has been reliably informed that Ncikazi was working without a contract at Arrows. It is said that the club’s chairlady, Mato Madlala only settled for Ncikazi after she could not get Simo Dladla due to his commitment at Richards Bay United. This is after Steve Komphela resigned.

But then Ncikazi did a great job! He went on to guide the club to its first ever fourth place finish in the Premiership.

Mngqithi and Ncikazi worked together at Arrows before and they were the ones who brought the club its first ever trophy in 2009 when they beat now-defunct Ajax Cape Town in that famous 6-0 victory at Orlando Stadium.

Even though there are reports linking Ncikazi with joining Orlando Pirates, Scrolla.Africa have heard from their reliable source that he is likely to join up again with Mngqithi at Masandawana.
