A French soldier was stabbed outside the Gare de l’Est train station in Paris on Monday, just 11 days before the 2024 Olympics begins.
Thousands of visitors will be using the train station during the Games.
The soldier sustained a shoulder injury but is in a stable condition.
The suspect was immediately arrested, and authorities are investigating the motive.
The soldier was part of the Sentinelle force, created to protect key sites after the harrowing 2015 terrorist attacks in the city.
As Paris prepares for the Olympics from July 26 to August 11, the city plans to deploy around 30,000 police officers daily, increasing to 45,000 for the opening ceremony, and involving around 18,000 military personnel for security.
