After a Nigerian mother of 10 refused to have sex for a decade with her now 72-year-old husband and chased away his girlfriends, his request for a divorced was granted.
A Customary Court in Lagos on Wednesday granted the request of the estranged husband, Mojidi Osho, to dissolve the 48-year marriage with his wife of almost five decades, Tolu Osho, the Premium Times reported.
“The last time my wife allowed me to sleep with her was 10 years ago,” Mojidi, a mechanic, told the court.
“I am starving. But whenever I come home with my girlfriends, she will chase them away.”
Court president Adeniyi Koledoye said that since the petitioner insisted on divorce the court was left with no option other than to pronounce the union dissolved.
“Each of you should go their separate ways unmolested. The court wishes both of you well in your future endeavours,” Koledoye said.
The president ordered Mojidi Osho to pay N250,000 (R9,000) to his wife as a settlement and to pay another R9,000 for her to get new accommodation.
