- SARS is auctioning 14 luxury cars belonging to Royal AM Football Club to recover R37-million in unpaid taxes from owner Shauwn Mkhize.

Businesswoman Shauwn Mkhize is about to lose her multi-million rand car collection as the taxman comes knocking.
The South African Revenue Service is auctioning off 14 high-end vehicles belonging to Royal AM Football Club to recover R37-million in unpaid taxes.
The online auction runs from 27 June to 2 July through Bidders Choice Group. Anyone wanting to bid must pay a R50,000 registration fee.
The star of the show is a 2022 Mercedes-Benz S680 Maybach “Edition 100” – one of only 100 made worldwide.
Other luxury rides include a 2020 Bentley Continental GTC worth over R4-million, a 2016 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen ONYX and a 2022 BMW i7 xDrive60.
The auction comes after a court placed Royal AM under curatorship in 2024. A curator now controls the club’s assets and can sell them to cover debts.
But MaMkhize is fighting back. She has taken the Premier Soccer League to court after her team was kicked out of the competition.
In papers filed at the Joburg High Court, she wants the PSL’s decision declared unlawful.
The PSL claims Royal AM lied during membership renewal in July last year. The league says MaMkhize and her son Andile Mpisane were listed as directors when the real director was Shamish Sadab.
MaMkhize hit back, saying the PSL got it wrong.
“When we submitted the renewal on 1 July 2024, Mpisane and I were the official directors. That was the truth,” she said.
She argued that Sadab only became a director after 26 July, long after the forms were submitted.
The PSL also accused Royal AM of ignoring Fifa registration bans and missing matches.

MaMkhize blamed missing fixtures on a court order obtained by SARS that froze the club’s accounts in November last year.
She said curator Jaco Venter failed to pay players and staff. The club promised the PSL a “Letter of Comfort” to fix problems, but the curator demanded R900,000 before issuing it.
MaMkhize also accused the league of making things worse by cutting Royal AM’s R2.3-million monthly grant.
“By cutting the grant and suspending our matches, the league itself contributed to the problems,” she said in court papers.
Royal AM’s troubles run deep. Star striker Samir Nurkovic was promised more than R15-million over three years but only received one payment of R245,943.91.
Defender Ricardo Nascimento is still owed R600,000 plus interest dating back to September 2023.
The PSL voted to remove Royal AM from the league completely. Three new teams from the ABC Motsepe League will be promoted to fill the gap.
Mysteriously, Royal AM has now disappeared from Fifa’s list of banned teams without explanation.
Cars up for auction include a 2012 BMW 750i, 2018 BMW GT 640i, 2016 BMW X1, 2012 BMW X6 xDrive40d, Toyota Hilux bakkies, 2009 Nissan NP300 Hardbody and a 2016 Volkswagen Crafter.
