Socialite and businesswoman Shauwn Mkhize will finally reveal the reasons behind her widely publicised divorce from her policeman ex, Sbu Mpisane.
This and more will be contained in the eagerly-awaited book titled MaMkhize– My World My Rules. It’s set to hit the shelves before the end of this month.
A reality TV star and Royal AM president, Mkhize told Scrolla.Africa that the book will delve into her upbringing, shaped by political riots in her Mbumbulu home in south Durban in the 1980s.
“I have been longing for this moment and thank God it’s finally happening. Opening up about my childhood and adult life has done me a great deal of healing,” she said.
Speaking after the team’s CAF Confederations Cup 2-0 win over Mbabane Highlanders at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday, she said that the book will cover “almost all aspects” of her life.
“I will touch on my dad’s and cousin’s deaths. Since my family was full of political activists during the 1980s, we always lived in fear. At some stage our home was burnt down, forcing us to look for shelter at relatives.
“It was tough times during that apartheid era. Being told that your dad has been killed after handing himself over to cops was unbearable and torturing. How I have come this far is really God’s miracle and my late parents’ blessings.”
On her divorce from Mpisane, Mkhize quipped: “You will drop your jaws upon reading exclusive details on what led to our divorce,”
The socialite said she felt it wise to publish the book because “a wrong impression and image” has been created about her lifestyle by the media and public.
Mkhize owns a multimillion-rand construction company and is renowned for flashing her taste for an expensive lifestyle through social media. She divorced Mpisane in 2019 and has a son Andile, who is a footballer and house musician.
