Popular Limpopo singer Makhadzi says powerful people in the music industry are trying to kill her.

The singer, whose real name is Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, was attacked in Cape Town on Christmas night last year after leaving a club with a man nobody knew. She disappeared for a while, and now she has come forward to say her life has not been the same since.

She posted photos of her bruises on social media and said she has been living in fear. But she deleted the post shortly after sharing it, leaving fans worried and confused.

“They are coming to take my life,” she wrote in a message that shocked her followers. She did not name anyone, but said there are “dark secrets” in the South African music industry.

Makhadzi believes other artists are also in danger. Fans online quickly pointed to other South African stars who died in tragic or suspicious ways, including Brenda Fassie, Lucky Dube, Zahara and AKA.

Some fans now believe there may be a group behind the scenes threatening or controlling musicians. Others say artists are being forced to pay money for protection or are punished if they speak out.

One fan said: “It’s like there’s a P Diddy in the South African industry, and artists are not safe.”

After Makhadzi shared her message, fans across the country started using the hashtag #PrayForMakhadzi to support her. Many are calling for the police to step in and protect her and other artists.

So far, Makhadzi has not told the full story, and it is not clear who is behind the attack.
