Limpopo singer and BET Award-winning artist Makhadzi has fired popular DJ Snani after almost four years together.
The decision comes after a year of reported skipping work, last-minute cancellations, and double bookings that left her team struggling.
A close associate said the problems started when Snani began missing major gigs. Sometimes he would call in sick at the last minute, but later be seen at other events, Sunday World reported.
Makhadzi’s team, which includes dancers, backup singers and DJs, are full-time staff expected to be available at all times, but Snani was allegedly not meeting this commitment.
Makhadzi confirmed she had to let him go, saying she values being professional and on time. She added that while Snani was like a brother to her, his unreliability made it impossible to continue working together.
On social media, Snani announced that he no longer works for Makhadzi Entertainment and will return to Limpopo to start fresh. He also shared that being a DJ today is more about social media numbers than skills, and asked people not to question him further.
Makhadzi is preparing for her annual One Woman Show at Makhuvha Stadium and Rabali Stadium in Limpopo on 20 and 21 December, and is looking for a new DJ to join her team.
