Lockdown countdown

All eyes will be on President Ramaphosa on Thursday night for his announcement on the future of the lockdown.

A leaked government plan shows five levels of possible restrictions, depending on the spread of the virus.

• We’re on Level 5 now 
• Level 4: We can buy some non-essentials. Taxis operate all day, agriculture, open-cast mining and financial services operate again
• Level 3: Takeaway food, alcohol, clothing and phones on sale again. Carmakers and Transnet go back to work
• Level 2 Domestic workers and waste pickers can work again
• Level 1 restricts only international travel
