They only have three athletes at the Olympics – and they have never won a medal.
But Liberia is leading the way in fashion in Tokyo with their beautifully designed wardrobes.
The New York Times reports that since 1956, the team has had to hunt for sponsorships before almost every Games.
This year they reached out to Telfar Clemens, a designer from Brooklyn in New York City.
Clemens is a Liberian American designer who founded his own company in 2004 with the motto “Not for you, for everyone.”
When Emmanuel Matadi, one of the Liberian sprinters, found out that Clemens was Liberian, the team decided to reach out.
And so was born this Olympian fashion collection.
