Living off scraps, the Blitzboks at last score a try with 10 seconds to go before the break. Argentina lead by two points as the teams swap sides with the momentum seemingly in South Africa’s favour.

At the very start of the second half, the momentum swings further in favour of the Blitzboks with a long range try. South Africa’s five point lead is so very welcome.

Both teams squander scoring opportunities until Impi Visser gets a yellow card and Argentina capitalise immediately with a try. The scores are even with the conversion to come. As the ball hits the upright, South Africa is still in the game – if scores remain even, the match will go into extra time.

But it is not to be.

Ten seconds into fulltime, Blitzboks hearts are broken yet again. An Argentinian try denies the Blitzboks a much needed victory.
