KZN Legislature: The KZN Legislature turned into a war of words between the IFP and uMkhonto weSizwe Party members. The cat fight came after MK Party member Dudu Nzama accused the IFP of turning the Office of the Premier into a den of thugs. After her speech, IFP member of the Legislature Dr Andile Biyela jumped at the MK Party and accused the party of being an organisation of clowns who failed to debate serious issues that affect communities but chose to enjoy comedy while disrespecting leaders of other political parties. “I’m not surprised by this insulting term from the MK Party member. It shows that MK Party is just a party of comedians who clap at insults of other leaders. It’s not a party of substance,” said Biyela.
uMgungundlovu District: The Democratic Alliance welcomes the release of the water audit close-out report by uMgungundlovu District Municipality. This follows years of consistent calls by the Democratic Alliance for such a thorough audit, which is essential to enable the municipality to deliver its main job of water provision effectively and efficiently. The report reveals deeply concerning findings: 24,125 households are receiving water services without being billed, 15,245 households do not have meters, and 2,304 meters have been illegally bypassed.
Eshowe: KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Organised Crime officers have arrested three suspects, two of whom are believed to be extortion kingpins in the areas of Eshowe and Durban.
