Melmoth: The former ANC Youth League regional leader is under fire from his royal family as he is being accused of orchestrating a campaign to disrespect and undermine the Prime Minister to the Zulu Monarch Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi. Lindokuhle Xulu from Mzala Nxumalo Region has been summoned to a family meeting by the Prime Minister of the Xulu Clan to explain the allegations against him of putting the name of the family and its traditional leadership into disrepute. In a letter that was leaked to Scrolla.Africa, Dr Cedric Xulu, who is the Prime Minister of the clan, summoned his son Lindokuhle to attend the meeting that will be held on Monday in Melmoth, north of KZN, over the allegations of using other people behind the scenes to insult and disrespect Buthelezi. “You are facing allegations of orchestrating the public insults toward Reverend TD Buthelezi. This is a serious case because you are placing your clan and its traditional leadership in a bad way and an image that will never be fixed,” said Dr Xulu in a letter.
Richards Bay: KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli has called on the provincial government departments and the private sector to pay bills due to municipalities so that local governments can be able to speed up service delivery to communities. The engagement with the captains of industry was held in Richards Bay on Thursday and it coincided with the centenary celebrations of the Zululand Chamber of Commerce and Industries, which has been at the forefront of boosting the economy of the province for ten decades.
Durban: A new fundraising initiative aimed at unlocking educational opportunities for young people kicks off this April, as the University of KwaZulu-Natal joins forces with Durban-based NPO Care Enough TDS to host a Golf Day Fundraiser. More than 150 township learners and dozens of UKZN students are set to directly benefit from the inaugural UKZN and Care Enough Golf Day Fundraiser to be held on 23 April 2026 at Umhlali Country Club and Golf Course. The initiative aims to generate financial support for students at the University of KwaZulu-Natal who face financial barriers, while also strengthening educational programmes delivered by Care Enough TDS in township communities.
