KZN EFF blasts Ngizwe Mchunu over Malema drug money claims

By Celani Sikhakhane

  • The EFF says Ngizwe Mchunu falsely claimed Julius Malema took sixty million rand from Nigerian drug dealers for political benefits.
  • The EFF promised to protect its leaders while Julius Malema demands a public apology and one million rand in damages.

The EFF in KwaZulu-Natal has blasted Ngizwe Mchunu for trying to defame Julius Malema in public.

The political party says the Bhinca Nation president is desperate. They accuse him of using vulgar insults and baseless gossip to get public attention using the name of the EFF leader.

The public fight exploded after Mchunu made serious claims about the politician.

Mchunu said Malema took sixty million rand from Nigerian drug dealers. He also accused Malema of protecting illegal immigrants to get political support.

Mchunu attacked Malema for turning his back on South Africans who want to stop illegal immigrants from coming into the country.

The EFF quickly shut down the claims. The party promised to shield Malema and the rest of the party leaders from public gossip.

“These utterances form part of Mchunu’s desperate attempts to gain attention and relevance to the public through the name of Malema,” the party said.

Malema fired back at Mchunu. He blasted Mchunu as an unskilled man who is afraid of white people.

Malema said Mchunu only targets African immigrants because he is an illiterate Zulu man. He said Mchunu only knows about mpesu and imbiza to boost his sexual desire.

Malema is hunting down Mchunu for one million rand in damages. He wants the massive payout and a public apology.

England Slabbert Attorneys hit Mchunu with a legal letter on 29 April 2026. The lawyers gave him 24 hours to pull back his words.
