  • A generous donor built a safe house for Zanele and baby Oluhle after they lived in a wet shack.
  • Hamba Bamba Funda hosted a holiday event where local mothers learned knitting and cooking skills.

Christmas came early for Mother Zanele and her baby Oluhle.

The pair lived in a leaking shack in Kliptown that flooded when it rained. It was soaked and not safe for a small child.

The non-profit organisation Hamba Bamba Funda asked for help and a kind person answered the call.

Zanele now has a warm and dry place to sleep. The organisation says she can now rest in comfort without fear of the weather.

The good news continued in Kliptown at a special holiday gathering.

Eighty moms and their babies met for the 2nd Annual Christmas Care day to celebrate the festive season. The goal was to learn skills that help families survive and grow.

Women took part in knitting classes and cooking demos. They also learned how to bond better with their babies.

Mothers from the Thriving Together project spoke to the crowd about how the support has changed their lives.

Founder Monja Boonzaier shared a message of grace with the women. She says the spirit of Christmas is about building skills for life.

The group celebrated a year of helping each other through tough times with resilience and care.
