King Misuzulu Zulu kaZwelithini has revealed that he is not in a hurry to get another wife.
Speaking for the first time since he was appointed to the Zulu throne he said he was happy with his wife, with whom he has two kids.
In the Zulu tradition, the King needs to marry the great wife who will give birth to an heir.
In an interview with eNCA, the King said as much as he doesn’t shy away from tradition, he is still fine with only one wife.
King Misuzulu paid lobola of 10 cows and R50,000 cash to the family of his sweetheart, Ntokozo Mayisela in Blaauwbosch, Newcastle last month.
He says the wedding has not yet taken place because they are still in mourning.
The king also touched on the issue of his brother Prince Simakade Zulu who is reported to have submitted his name to the KZN provincial government to be recognised as the Zulu king.
He said he was confident that his brother will one day come home and they can work together to unite the family.
He said he loves his brother and his aunt and ubaba wami, Princess Mbonisi.
“So I have no one that I dislike in my family,” he said.
On the land issue he made it clear that he will protect the land but he also wants to invite investors to develop it so that it could be beneficial to his subjects.
“My first priority is to unite my family because charity begins at home. Then I will be able to unite the Zulu Nation,” he said.
He said they couldn’t develop the land alone and they needed others to develop the land.
“My father laid a foundation which I have to carry on with,” he said.
