King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has put an end to reports of dismissing his spokesperson, Prince Afrika Zulu of Onkweni Royal House.
In a video shared with Scrolla.Africa, the King clarified that Prince Afrika remains an integral part of the royal family and continues to hold his position as spokesperson.
“I must make it abundantly clear that I have not fired Prince Africa as my spokesperson. How could one be dismissed from their own home?
“He is a member of this family, and therefore, he remains my spokesperson,” said the King.
This statement comes in response to recent allegations and leaks which claimed that Prince Africa had been expelled from his role.
Among the allegations were claims of tension between King Misuzulu and Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, purportedly orchestrated by Prince Afrika.
Further accusations suggested that Prince Africa was seeking financial incentives from business figures to facilitate meetings with the King.
The leaked statement included claims that Prince Afrika had paid a bribe of R100,000 to secure the position of the King’s spokesperson.
While these unfounded statements cast a shadow on the royal household, King Misuzulu’s public denial will hope to quell the controversy and assert Prince Africa’s continued involvement with the royal family.
Sources have also revealed underlying tensions between Prince Africa, King Misuzulu’s friend Jacob Mnisi, and a woman named maMdletshe, who is also associated with the King’s affairs.
