The King of the Zulu nation has introduced his third wife to his uncle King Mswati III and his Queen grandmother after paying the lobola of 16 cattle to his wife’s family.
This happened on Saturday when King Misuzulu KaZwelithini was in eSwatini to discuss the issue of the Ingonyama Trust with King Mswati, whose assistance he needs in order to get the International Criminal Court’s intervention.
During that meeting, his third wife, Queen Nomzamo Myeni, was introduced to the Swazi King, his mother, former Queen Regent Indlovukati Mhlekazi Ntfombi MaTfwala and the embattled Shembe Church leader, Inkosi Mduduzi Nyazilwezulu Shembe.
The meeting was held at eLudzidzini Royal Palace.
“The King has introduced his third wife Queen Nomzamo Myeni (Mdolomba) to His Majesty King Mswati iii and Her Royal Highness, Indlovukati Mhlekazi. Their union was blessed by the Shembe Church leader Inkosi Nyazilwezulu at the zinkonzo yeSabatha that was held at eLudzidzini Royal Palace,” the statement reads.
This is the first time King Misuzulu KaZwelithini has introduced his wife to his uncle King Mswati III.
King Misuzulu left South Africa on Friday after he had a meeting with amakhosi where he revealed to them the frustration he has been subjected to by Minister of Agriculture Thoko Didiza.
He said that Didiza has been bullying him for quite some time over the Ingonyama Trust, refusing to meet with him and some members of the royal family and the traditional prime minister, Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi.
He said Didiza always made it clear that she only wants to meet him alone, not with other people.
The King is worried that the ANC wants to steal the land of Ingonyama Trust, using Didiza and the Kgalema Mothlanthe high level panel recommendations which proposed the scrapping of the Ingonyama Trust.
He told amakhosi that their land is under threat and that the government is stripping them of their powers to protect the land for rural dwellers.
King Misuzulu said he is navigating a plan to take the matter to the International Criminal Court. Ingonyama Trust land is rich with minerals and is a large tract of approximately 3-million hectares.
