Singer Kelly Khumalo has spoken out after being accused again of killing football star Senzo Meyiwa.
In an Instagram video posted on Friday morning, Kelly said she’s tired of being blamed and dragged through the mud. She said if anyone truly believes she killed Senzo, they must take action.
“Enough is enough. It stops here, and it stops today,” said Kelly in the video.
Senzo was shot and killed in October 2014 at the home of Kelly’s mother in Vosloorus, Gauteng. At the time, Kelly, her sister, and other people were in the house. Over the years, many people have pointed fingers at her, but she has always said she had nothing to do with his death.
This week, Advocate Malesela Teffo told Podcast and Chill that Kelly accidentally shot Senzo during an argument, not during a robbery as the court case suggests.
Kelly said she won’t keep quiet any longer.
“I’m not going to release press statements. I won’t pay lawyers to speak for me anymore,” she said. “If you think I did it, come and get me. I’m not above the law, but I’ve had enough.”
She said the rumours have hurt her for years and called them “stupid humiliation rituals”.
“Angikho muntu enimsabayo,” she added, meaning “I’m not someone you should fear.”
She told people to either go to court or leave her alone.
“If I’m the person you’re looking for, come and get me. But if not, back off.”
