  • Kelly says Senzo Meyiwa would have been a responsible father, but Jub Jub and Mthokozisi Yende have never supported their children.
  • She said that she knows the pain of growing up without a father, as she was raised by her mother and grandmother.

Kelly Khumalo spoke openly about the struggles of raising her children without help from their fathers.

In an interview on the L-Tido Podcast, the singer said the fathers of her kids do not support them.

“They are all useless, all of them,” Kelly said. “Well, except for one. If he were here, he would have been a responsible father.”

She was speaking about her late boyfriend, Senzo Meyiwa, who was shot dead in 2014. Kelly believes the former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper would have been a loving dad to their daughter, Thingo.

Her first child, Christian, is from musician Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye. Her youngest daughter, Luna, is from former footballer Mthokozisi Yende. Kelly said neither of them has ever given her money for the children.

When asked about child support, she replied: “From whom? No. They are all useless.”

Jub Jub has previously said that Kelly refused to let him see his son after he was released from prison. He was jailed in 2010 after a drag-racing crash that killed four children and injured another.

Kelly also reflected on her own childhood, saying she grew up without a father and was raised by her mother and grandmother. “Like any child, it affected me,” she said.
