- Jub Jub says he has tried for years to contact Kelly Khumalo and be part of their son Christian’s life since leaving prison.
- The musician says he sent gifts for his son while in jail, but they were later returned as he struggled to reconnect.
Musician and TV host Jub Jub has publicly begged singer Kelly Khumalo to let him be part of their son Christian’s life.
In a video shared online, Jub Jub thanked Kelly for raising their son while he was in prison for murder and drug charges.
He said he has been ready to co-parent since his release in 2017 but has battled to contact her.
“Kelly, you know how many times I’ve tried to contact you about our boy,” he said. “Please stop making me look like a deadbeat dad. I’m alive, I’m kicking, and I just want to be part of my child’s life.”
Jub Jub said he tried to go through the courts, but Kelly and her lawyer ignored him. He said while he was in prison, he sent gifts every Christmas and birthday until she began returning them in 2014 and 2015.
He added that he has even driven to his son’s school just to see him from a distance. “The most painful thing is watching my child grow up without me,” he said.
