Talented singer and songwriter Jessica LM on Friday released the music video of her latest single, which features Woza Sabza.
The song “Juba Lami” (My Dove) is dedicated to all the lives lost in 2020 and 2021. It premiered on MTV Base and YouTube two days after the audio version was released on Wednesday.
Having lost her baby brother, Jessica honours those people who have passed away. She does this by telling the story of her brother’s death with her mother as the music video’s main character going through the emotions of losing a child.
Even though the music video tells this sad story, including a staged funeral for her little brother, the song is upbeat and has a feel-good vibe to it – which creates a balance in emotions.
Last year Jessica – whose full name is Jessica Laura Marshall – released the single “Kuzohlangana” featuring Josiah De Disciple, ThackzinDj, Tee Jay, and 9umba. But it was the collaborative single with Sir Trill – titled “Lwandle Xiluva” – that got her the recognition of over 900,000 YouTube views.
Having worked with a sizeable number of prominent artists in the music industry, Jessica is one of the fastest growing talented songwriters to look out for in Mzansi.
